Default Fuel Pump Sock Question

I have a walbro 255 and the sock that came with it will not fit. The sock has a metal ring that looks like it is supposed to fit over the end of the pump but it is to small. Am I doing something wrong or is it just a really tight fit and you have to force it on??

Its a tight fit. I put alittle vasoline on my finger and rubbed it in there and it slid right on.

You shouldn't need any vaseline. It is a force fit.It should push on with the palm of your hand.If you think it needs some lubricant then use some liquid soap.It will eventually dry were vaseline won't.
Good luck.

Good luck.

Also have to realize that the small trace amount of vaseline being used, is not gonna hurt anything regardless.
If I ever have problems with things like that, instead of installing something dry, I use grease or teh like. Again, just a film is all, with NO excess. Just enough to let me know the surface of the item is no longer "dry"
