Default Magnafuel MP-9950, now i need boost reference

I already have a Magnafuel MP-9950, and now i need a regulator that is boost reference.

This is a question i almost feel stupid asking, but it actually makes sense that i could work.

In the place where the boost reference port normally is, mine has a stone filter. Can i simply remove this filter and install a fitting to hook it up to vacume?

Normally things aren't that simple... but in this case, it would seem like its possible... being that its currently used as a vent, and all a Boost reference regulator does it use manifold pressure on top of the diaphram to make it open at a higher fuel pressure 1:1 with boost.

Yes it is a 1/8' NPT fitting to a -3 to connect to a vacuum source.
