Default steel gas tank and E85 question

has anyone used the 98 and earlier gas tank and using E85 for fuel? Ive ran it with a plastic tank but was wondering about the metal tanks

I ran E85 with a metal tank for a year, but have friends that have been running it much longer with no ill effects.
It's not as corrosive as the media portrays.
The only issue is with it gumming up the intake if you drive it in the cold, but that's why they have E70 (winter blend).

I am using it with a metal tank with no problems, but its only been a few months.
