Can the stock pump keep up?

In an 02 Z28 with 36lb injectors at 58psi making 475-500hp is the stock pump big enough? I was asked this question the other day and didnt honestly know the answer.

I would say no.

I would just buy the Racetronix entire PnP 255 single pump kit, wiring harness & all.

it is worth it. direct bolt in once you drop the tank and it is a damn easy install & wire in.

a walbro 255 pump is about a hundred bucks.

Thats what I thought as well. Every time I have installed bigger injectors I have at the same time installed a 255 pump. I have never attempted to use the stock pump with larger injectors. Its my neighbors car and for some reason he balked at the idea of dropping the tank to install a bigger pump.

ive seen cars do it, but also your going to be straining the pump. like these guys said, 100 dollar pump and ur set.

Can it be done? Im sure it can. Is it safe? Probably not. And do you really want to take the chance on something so absolutley important? I just look at it this way: a hotwire kit, and pump is a WHOLE lot cheaper than fixing the damage done from the stock pump failing to keep up!
