stock fuel question

do i need my purge canister because it brok when i took my manifold off to paint it

Yes you need it but how did you break it taking off the intake? Its at the back by the fuel tank??

maybe that's not what its called its the little black canister on the driver side right by were the fuel line comes in theres 2 hoses one goes to the fuel rail the other goes to the piece im taking about this is it found it on advance autos web site ACDelco Evaporation Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve
