i havent seen any info on this, i have it at my disposal, and was wondering if it would be safe to run like a 70%/30% mix with 93 octane. motor is at 12:1 and would like some security, and some extra timing. 70% 93 of course.

The 100LL will smoke cats for sure. I run it 50/50 mixed in a high compression sbc in my 55 pickup with Lucas upper cylinder lubricant mixed in it. 100LL is a very dry fuel and will torch cylinders without some type of additive. Just my opinion

JP5 & JP8 are kerosene derivitives used in diesel aircraft & jet engines.
100LL is gasoline used in gasoline aircraft engines. It is a dry non-oily fuel so as not to leave deposits in mechanical fuel injection on these aircraft.
It does not burn hotter. In fact air cooled aircraft engines are more sensitive to cylinder heat than water cooled engines, so this is closely monitored & controlled.
It does not have road taxes on it, so use is punishible by strict fines.
It does work well in cars, but will ruin cats & o2 sensors.
Long term effect on injectors is not known, but I would suspect it will not hurt them for a very long time.
It run it straight & it works well in my 12:1 Camaro & also my 2 stroke quad.
Currently it is under $5 per gallon so compared to race fuel it is a good price.

I run it in my dirt bike and snowmobiles. 100LL stands for low lead, lead is a great lubricant. Avgas is very consistant my jetting rarely ever changes, unlike pump fuel where everyone uses a different blend at different stations for different seasons. Lead is also great for resisting detonation. AVgas also stores great for years if kept in a cool dry place. I let it sit in my dirtbike for 6 months at a time and it always fires up right away no problems at all. You may notice more deposits on your spark plugs though and an odd color, no big deal though but you will have to learn how to read plugs for this fuel. Smells great too! I usually get it for $4 a gallon from the local airport. Most O2 sensors are not designed to be used with leaded fuels, it will help if you upgrade to the NGK NTK o2 sensor as it last much longer than Bosch.
