Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and I am currently in the process of building a 427 lsx bowtie engine for my 98 trans am. I was wondering if I will need to upgrade my fuel lines, pump or anything. I know I need bigger injectors but was unsure about the rest. Any help, advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks Lonnie. Youll be the first one I contact when I'm ready. I am thinking the engine should be around 600-650 hp at the flywheel. It may be a little bit before I am ready to do the fuel system. I am still in the process of the engine build, but want to get some idea on what everything else will cost.

I have a LS7 head and intake 427 in my 99 T/A. I est. 650+ at the flywheel.
I upgraded to the Racetronix pump with the hotwire kit. With 42 lb. injectors
everything seems to work fine. when I decide to throw a bottle at it, I will probably need bigger injectors and more fuel.

Thanks big block. How do you like the 427? I bought my 98 about 2 months ago cheap because it had a spun rod bearing so I never even drove it yet. I had a 68 rs camaro with a 406 small block and a 93 mustang with a lot of work but havn't messed with anything for about 10 years. Married with 2 kids kinda put a hold on things until I bought this 98.

Understand about the married w/kids. Now single I spent lots on my ride with nobody complaining. HAHA! I installed the fuel pump, 9", and all suspension while my motor was still stock. 145,000 mile LS1. It was fun BUT, the 427 is a very different animal. I've had built small and big blocks, mostly in 2nd gen f bodies.
This built LS7 is just plain nasty. I have a blast driving and with my TSP duals, I get all kinds of looks and compliments.

I can't wait to drive mine. I'll be down a little on hp due to heads but the money I was going to use on heads I needed to use on the drivetrain. Plans are for a new set of heads and new kooks headers next year. Weather is getting crappy here in Ohio now so I won't get to drive it till spring but that gives me plenty of time to work on it.
