Default vette bypass filter/walbro 255 external pump/600 hp?

I am running a walbro 255 external pump with a vette bypass/return filter on a stock ls1 in a 70 nova. I am installing a 408 with approx. 600fwhp. Just wondering if this setup will support the 600hp? I was thinking of running a aeromotive a1000 pump with this style of regulator/return. Has anyone tried this? It would save me a bunch of money if I can just use the filter as the regulator. Any info is appreciated.

600HP should be no problem. The Vette filter will work but adjustable regulators are cheap and would be a big improvement on the system.Aeromotive would be my last choice for a external pump.Weldon has a new 1100A which looks good and the price is right. They make some of the best pumps in the industry.
Good luck.
