Default Walbro external pump fittings. Open them up?

I recently got a Walbro external fuel pump and am contemplating if it is a bad idea to drill out and open up the barbed fittings that come with the pump? They have allotta meat/material in them and are rather small. I know the suction side could benefit from less restricion but dont know how the pump would perform if i open the pressure side. Any idea?

Default

Opening the inlet up may marginally help, but I would not worry about it. The fittings will easily outflow the pump.
