Default Fuel pump problem

My camaro has been sitting for about 4 years with no kind of activity, I just droped a new engine into the car after two batterys and a few grownds I got it to turn over. The car will run with my buddy spraying starting fluid down the intake, but when he stops the car dies, I checked the fuses and relays and they seem to be good idk if the fuel pump is not getting power, how could I check, or if I need a new fuel pump all together... any ideas?

have you tried banging on the sheet metal above the fuel pump and then trying to start the car, the pump might be somewhat stuck from inactivity i'm assuming.... did you just look at the fuses and relay, the fuel pump fuse is hot at all times so simply get a good ground and using a tester make good contact with the fuse with the other end to see if there is current, also do this with all of the slots for the relay connection, (one of them should always have current)... if there is good current the other possible flaw in the wiring would be a bad contact at the pump connection (which shouldn't be the case if you didn't tamper with it)... if you didn't tamper with the pump then somewhere in between the pump and power source a wire might of ben damage which i also doubt.

more than likely pump is just forzen, and will work but will need to be replaced soon

I removed some of the back pannel where the fuel pump is located, so it is exposed I tried testing the wiring to the pump and got nothing not sure if it was because the key wasnt on or what? Any more suggestions? And on the relay I tested power from only one slot.

i dont remember which slot it is but test all of them and one should give you power.....you're not getting power when you tested your pump wiring because the key has to be on, even so it is only given power for 1 to 3 seconds (just enough to prime).... i tried testing my wires at the pump connection but i didn't get any power, yet i still believe my wiring is good (it's just so hard to get a good ground back there).

also i saw that you said it had fuel when it went to rest... i'm assuming you're not trying to use this fuel or mix new few with the old... if so try syphoning the old fuel out and add new fuel... remember fuel looses its "burning effectiveness" after a while, especially after the length of time u left it

i'm gonna guess even if you put new fuel in it, the stuff left in the lines up to the rail probably gummed up and is now gumming up everything. had a friend do that on his 4 cyl s10.

Yeah I syphoned all the fuel out and added new fuel, but when i go to turn the key on I cant even hear the fuel pump engaging on....
