98' LS1 Fuel Pump Question hello guys, i got a 98 ls1 camaro i did the whole trap door deal, but noticed after i finished that the bracket that bolts down the pump in place is bolted on tight, i am still able to grab the pump by the steal lines and move it side to side... is this normal or something wrong here?, im getting a strong raw gas smell out of the tank so i figured fumes coming out of that 'play' the pump has. also wanted to know why i have 4 lines coming in to the pump when 99+ ls1s have only 3.. THANKS!

04gto5.7 is correct, the opening is smaller. If you are installing the LS1 plastic fuel pump module the opening needs to be increased. This is a link ti a vendor who offers the correct opening modification for the metal tank.

One is a pressure line, one is a vent line, one is a return line with a regulator built inline, and one goes to the charcoal canister. The pressure line tees off right after the filter and goes back into the port with the regulator, so it is a return less style system that is deadheaded at the fuel rail. The second line going into your fuel rail is a purge line that. Purges gas vapors coming from the charcoal canister into the fuel rail to be burned away.
