Can a 6 spd Z28 get decent Milage
I am already a LS1 owner with my 2000 Auto Heads Cam Intake Formula! Now its just a toy and it gets crap milage with my Big Converter.
My current Daily Driver is a 2000 Grand Prix GTP and my best average milage Hwy & City is 23mpg combined. About 26mpg straight Hwy & 20 mpg City
Well im not really digging the GTP anymore & to be honest I cant stand the FWD with this car pushing this kind of power. So im going to sell it & get something different.
Thinking about buying a 6 spd Z28 & putting on some Big & Little Tires & take out as much weight as possbile, Is it possbile to get comparable milage with a LS1 as I did with my GTP
I have heard some guys say they get 30+ mpg on the Hwy & low 20s in the City,
I thought about buying a Civic,35 mpg is good. But at $4.00 a gallon I want to enjoy my driving experience and try to combine performance and Fuel econmey

It is more based on how you drive it, but I would not expect more than high teens city & mid 20's hwy. I used to average 20mpg, half back roads/half highway on my daily ride to work with my stock Z28. 30 sounds nearly impossible unless you are driving gingerly, on perfectly level roads etc.

On long flat roads the GTO can get 28 MPG and I've got a pretty decent cam on it. 70 in 6th gear is not really pushing the engine.
My stock SS got about 25 MPG, when I took it on a long road trip.... IDK why the difference but the GTO always got better gas mileage.
