lucas has a pintle design that is about 10x lighter than the old bosch injectors (svo are not gen3 like the stock ones). This allows them to lift faster. The result is that i've found on many applications they deliver more fuel from 0-85% (static) than the same bosch ones, and idle a little easier.
Likewise with a high pressure fuel system its possible the lighter pintle may be effected if you run ridiculously high fuel pressure. Shouldn't be a problem unless you are ghetto tuning with a RRFPR.
didn't someone buy out lucas? maybe im thinking of siemens-deka

please expand on 'ghetto tuning'
a referenced regulator keeps the relative fuel pressure at the injection point completely stable at any map.
i actually prefer the svo's to the lucas, but prefer the mototrons over both having run and tuned on all three.
how much do the bosch things you are looking at go for? under three hundred?

I found them on ebay for $299 brand new (with free shipping) from some big mustang parts warehouse on the east coast, i thought that was cheap for 42's thats why im asking about them, PLUS i heard something about injector offset table, and "tuning headache" in the same breath
