Default update to problem

hey guys i have an update to my fuel system problem. just to refresh, i have a 98 TA and over the last few months it has been getting steadily harder to get the car to crank. i have to turn the car over a good 7 or 8 seconds to get it to fire. i've done no modifications to the fuel or the fuel system, and when i turn the key i can hear the pump prime. yesterday i had a friend of mine put a fuel pressure gauge on it. his gauge went to 50, and as soon as i turned the key it maxed out the gauge. when cranked the car seemed to hold that pressure, but when the key was turned off the pressure dropped very quickly, in 30 seconds it was down to about 10. so there's an update to my problem, if anyone has any suggestions as to what the problem could be i would greatly appreciate any information.

-Thanks in advance!

Try this: Turn the key to on, wait until you hear the pump stop. (You may have to buckle the seat belt and whatever to stop the chimes.) Turn the key off for about a second, then back on. Do this a few times and then try to start it. Common problem when the pump's check valve leaks.
