Default Electrical connections to pump&regulator

Looking for some help on the electrical connections to a 99 fuel pump assembly. It is going in a 1978 LS1 TA via a vette works kit into a OEM factory tank.
I know the fuel pump wires are grey and black (heavier gauge black)....the regulator connection has 3 wires...and it states 5 volts on the regulator. Can anyone help with any of this? Thanks

Leon

That is not the fuel pressure Regulator, That is part of the vapor purge system
Don't worry about connecting it up on your 78.

The fuel pressure regulator is in the module.
see attached photo.

One other modification you will have to make is the fuel level sender. The 4th gen gauge works on 40 - 240 ohm
The 2nd gen gauge works on 0 - 90 ohm.
The Fuel level sensor will need to be changed.
The GM part number for the Fuel level Sensor is 25319676.
sK 1083.
It s available from GM, how ever it pays to shop around. I bought one from Amazon.com
about two weeks ago for $87 with free shipping.

Ollie,
Thank you. I plan on retaining my OEM fuel level sender....but do you have any info on how to change the 40-240 ohm resistor?

Yes, the fuel level sender has two barbed fingers that hook in to slots on the fuel pump module.
The fingers are locked in place with the white locking tab.
The wire plug is locked in place with the red locking tab, visible at the top of the first photo.
Locking tabs circled in red in photo 3

ahhh....I see. I thought you just changed the resistance of the module..not the entire unit. I see that the part number you listed is out of a 97 Grand Prix. some people on thirdgen.org had a writeup about changing it too. good info, thank you again! I may consider using the 4th gen level so I can relocated the entire 4th gen pump/bucket to where the 2nd gen sender goes.

Yes, as stated they are for a 97 GP.
Best price I found was Amazon.com $87.00
I bought this about three weeks ago.
GM part # 25319676
SK 1083
The kit comes with two senders.
Depending on what size plug pins is on the module you have use that sender.
actually it is not too hard to re-pin the plugs so you end up with two usable
senders.
