Default E85 tuning questions

Im having my truck tuned next weekend and wondering what other tweaks I can/should do before hand. I'm gonna have it tuned on e85 so I'm wondering if a better plug runs better with e85 or not. Everyone with ls1's use ngk tr-55's but does e85 like a hotter or colder plug or doesn't matter? My truck is a 2011 silvo with a 5.3 with CAI, modded air box and catback with a xr-1 muffler.

NGK 3177 BR6EF Non-Projected Tip

Gap it so the ground strap is square with the electrode.
(Might be a little tighter than you're used to, but the plugs work best when the gap is square.)

Now how will that plug work if and when I need to switch back to 87 oct gas once in a blue moon?

Be interested in how well the stock fuel pump holds up to long term E85- Is your truck a flex-fueler already?. People go ahead and give me crap, Run Champion copper plugs gap at .45+ Hope your tuner is good.

Ya it's a 2011 flex fuel, has 36 lb injectors from factory to work with it. I may just stick with the stock plugs though if there's no hard evidence for the extra work

The type of plug is less important than the proper heat range.

Even though alcohol burns cooler, leading one to believe it needs a hotter plug, it burns cleaner, leading to less fouling/carbon buildup problems.

Since you are normally aspirated, your current plug will likely be OK.

Thanks Lonnie, pretty much what I was thinking. Not gonna spend the time or money on a different plug. I would assume gm put a plug in anyways to work with both gas and e85..... I hope at least, lol

The below picture of my LS2-402 TR55 plugs on E85 after 3,000+ street miles. Just an accurate tune.
