AN adapters for 16mm x 1.5 fuel filter threads

AN adapters for 16mm x 1.5 fuel filter threads I picked up a napa fuel filter 3481, which is equivalent to wix 33481.
It has 16mm x 1.5 threads on each end of the filter where flared hard tubing would connect. I bought fragola 460616 adapters and it screws into the filter fine, however it does not have a flared end to seal inside the fuel filter. I had some white plastic or nylon crush washers, the kind you would use on an oil or gearcase drain plug. They fit inside the fuel filter and when using the fragola adapter it seemed to seal. I was able to pressurize the filter with air to around 70 psi and hold it in a bucket of water with no leaks. tried it on the truck for a day and could smell gas fumes at the adapter if i put my nose to it so i'm not happy, i don't think that plastic washer is gas resistant. there were no liquid leaks but i could definitely smell it.
anybody mess with an adapters that go to fuel filters ?
still waiting for reply from summit, i suppose i could get an AN fitting fuel filter but the napa one i got is 4 micron rated and cheap to replace.

Fragola 460616 fittings need to seal on a crush washers. Fragola part # is 999216 for a 10 pack of aluminum crush washers. Alternately, you could probably get 16mm copper crush washers locally at the NAPA store where you bought your filter. (Sorry; I don't have NAPA's part #.)
