Default Fuel pressure has been dropping over the years

Installed my Racetronix fuel pump back in 2005. It has about 45k miles on it. When installed originally, I always had 56-58 lbs at idle and normal driving around. Over the last couple years it has been slowly falling off, down to about 51ish lbs now. I've also noticed that on a good road trip it'll also drop 1-2 lbs after a few hours. I can't imagine it would be the fuel pump going bad. Does this sound like a regulator? I've gotta drop the rear end for something else, so I'm thinking about doing the regulator at that time.

Opinions?

Thanks,

Brian

Default

Does your pressure fall imediately after it primes. This is often a sign of a bad regulator as well as low pressure.

When the pressure drops after driving for a long period, it is often from a combination of heat & possible inlet restriction. You could have dirty filter sock, or the rubber check valve that keeps the fuel bucket full can be letting the fuel drain back out.

I have all these pieces in stock if you want to upgrade a few things while it is apart.
