30# injectors vs. bigger MAF
30# injectors vs. bigger MAF With 30# SVO injectors, plus a bigger (85mm) or ported MAF, the MAF will balance out some of the richness of the injectors, my question is how much is left to tune out? The injectors alone are about 30% higher flow (?), so would the MAF bring it back to within 10-15% of balance? I'm trying to figure out if something like a MAF translator can make up the difference without changing PCM tables. (Yes I know that PCM tuning is the right way to do it.)
Most big Delphi MAFs make you run even richer in an
F-Body application. Most aftermarket ones are adjusted
to make you somewhat leaner, except the SLP '01-'02
version which is close to neutral. None of the ones that
lean you out, bother to say just how much. So it's kind
of a crap shoot. Plus putting in a deranged MAF would
be a bad idea on an automatic, if you happen to have
one.
