race fuel/gas???
how does one determine what fuel octane to use??
im running a 415 with 12.4 compression on unleaded vp 109 fuel at the moment. im also doing a wet 200 shot on top of that.
can i go up on the octane and what benefits will i have, if i can go up what should i go to and should it be leaded?? i will be having the car tuned mid january and wanted to prepare my self, also do my spark plugs stay the same?? colder?? hotter?? i forgot whats in there now.

MS109 is the highest octane, unleaded fuel, VP has. If you go higher, you'll probably need to go to a leaded fuel. That's going to play hell on your O2's. Stick with what you have to avoid problems. Do any of the other fuel brands have anything, unleaded, in a higher octane?

Thanks for ur help, I will keep looking for other suppliers to find if there is a higher unleaded fuel.
However I don't run any o2 sensors on my car it's just a track car for now till I make the switch to e85 if I ever get there.

Shell urt is unleaded 112 I believe but retarded expensive. I run 13.7:1 with dynamic compression of 11.74:1 with br8's on a 175 hit. Only thing I noticed is I have high carbon build up compared to unleaded fuels. I have 0 knock on the hit wit 24* of timing and 33* na. As stated above read you plugs you may not need tone waisting the money 12.4:1 seems like pump gas condo ratio depending on your dynamic ratio. I know a few people running 13.3:1 making 550whp with a 408 on pump with a dynamic of 9.2:1.

yeah i havent messed with the car in a lil while, but before then i had it tuned and according to the tuner plug rfeadings were good, on the dyno.
i tried going down the track but had tran issues so no track passes yet.
370cidZ06... what are u using to retard timing??

But if I'm going in for a re-tune and in need of fuel so I need to buy some.
What would be an upgrade to the ms109?? I don't want to keep buying and buying fuels to try out but would like to upgrade. This is a track car only, it has no cats already so I don't know y a leaded fuel would not be better. I also don't want too much maintenance as far as draining the tank after races and whatever else is involved??
