Default no fuel pump, no spark! help me out please.

hello everyone, not sure if this is the right section but i duno where to post this. anyway i drove my car to collage just fine but when i was leaving i started it up then it died 1 min later and it wont work again! it cranks but doesnt fire. no fuel pump noise on ignition and no spark from the coil packs. its my DD and mods in sig. car had no issues since the mods been on the car that is for 2 years. what to look for? crank position sensor? but can it actually control fuel pump priming? please help! thank you.

first thing i checked was fuel pressure and obviously no pressure. checked all the fuses i even removed them all and swaped locations and all and no hope. that was yesterday. today, actually 5 mins ago i put the ignition on "on" and the fuel pump primed and car started up like nothing happened! now am worried it would do it again :/

Well it's obviously a fuse/relay/wiring issue. ( or key/immobiliser etc )

The symptoms you describe show that the ecu/engine is not getting power.

sounds like a crank sensor going bad or bad connection. its located on the engine block just above the starter.

^ I think the crank sensor would mainly be for spark resolution, sending TDC/degree reference points to the PCM, but the cam sensor may be just used as a crank/running signal. ?? Kind of a backwards question.

I was thinking that too. No spark would be a cam/crank sensor, but for that and a fuel pump relay to go at the same time is rare..

Is the fuel pump priming? I take it you just mean the pump is not coming on for "run." If it's not coming on for Run, and no spark, then I would say crank/cam sensor also. Check the PCM feed side of the relay to be sure the relay is getting power.

Or whenever it starts acting up again..
