Default fuel psi drop after driving awhile

Have a 89 iroc z with and ls3/t56
When I first got the car I had to replace the fuel tank and ever since then when I go to the gas station I can't fully squeeze the trigger on the gas pump or it will click off like my tank is full so I have to take my time when filly up my car.
Now that I have the ls3 in the car same problem plus after long periods of driving the fuel pressure drops. Now that the ls3 is in the car I have a walbro 255lph pump/aeromotove regulator with guage . Went to get the car state referred and they told me that my car cannot have the adjustable fuel pressure regulator so I then switch it to the c5 corvette regular/fuel filter and same problem Fuel psi drops after long drives can't fill my tank up with gas fast I need to put the fuel in slow . Also before the swap the tpi engine never dropped fuel psi only the same problem with filly up the tank. any ideas guys?

When you swapped tanks, what did you do w/ the vent?

Same style tank just replacment tank everything is hooked up the same ..I don't think the vent valve is open it doesn't smell like gas..maybe closed with the problems I'm having...I took off the gas cap wen the pressure started dropping to let it vent to see it will help but.nothing

Have you checked the voltage at the pump?

Its most likely a venting issue. Make sure everything vents correctly. You may have to pressure the tank with some compressed air and see what it does.

Loosen the cap slightly & drive it. See if it makes a pressure difference.
If so, the vent is not working, drawing a vacuum on the tank after driving.
