Default Summit PTFE fittings

Anyone ever used Summit brand PTFE (teflon) fittings for PTFE Stainless Steel fuel hose? It seems i have to trim the stainless steel braid right at or slightly below the bottom of the olive to have the bottom part start to grip the other part of the fitting. The other part of the fitting does slide all the way down as well so thats not an issue. Is this ok? Is it normal? Should i just try another brand?

I've used them for my clutch, turbo oil feed, and meth injection, never had an issue. I'm not sure I understand the issue you are having.

I didn't have to trim the stainless braid at all, you just have to bend it back a little with the flathead screwdriver or something to get the ferrule on all the way. The braid will go over the ferrule when said and done.

Here's how I do it:
