lq4 stock efi vs aftermarket? ??
First off i im new to the forum and the ls motor in general. So what I'm doing is sticking a lq4 into my 63 suburban, i really like the idea of having the old school look of the carb and air cleaner, but like the functionality and drive ability of efi, so question is the stock fuel injection as good as an aftermarket one like ez efi, holly, fast ect. For performance and mpg. Keep in mind it will be a supercharged 408 stroker in the near future. I was also thinking of using this instead of the stock ecu. And wiring harness any feed back on it?? Thanks in advance!

The stock ecu is just as good as or better then any after market ecu.
Go to thirdgen.org to learn about modifying the stock ecu.

i just really like the idea of the self tuning. would save me time and money in the long, by not having to go in and get it tuned every time I want to change or add something.

...as for self tuning, there is no such thing. What some do is closed loop fueling adjustments and have a learn feature to make those adjustments permanent. But, they don't "self tune".

I highly recommend the Holley HP or Dominator kit. Easy to tune, compatibility to modify however you would like in the future, then brush up the tune. No more paying someone to tune or buying HP tuners. Costs more up front, but in the long run it will pay off and is far superior to the stock PCM
