ok..something wrong here..
I hooked up my new pressure gauge to my fuel rail schrader valve, nice and snug, bled the excess fuel out and turned key to accessory position. fuel pressure didnt move at all. still at 0...
i know im going to have to replace fuel pump (was going to do it anyways)
but it starts up and drives... rough idle and wont go past half throttle without bogging down and dieing.
i should still read SOME pressure if its starting up though??
not sure how the pressure regulator would fit in this... the pressure regulator is 1 piece with fuel rails? and other people say its in the tank. confused
2002 trans am ws6 6spd, completely stock besides, ls1 hotcam/ls6 valvesprings

You bleed the pressure from the rail, you need a shrader valve/tire stem tool to twist the little the shrader out of the rail so that when you hook up the gauge it sees "full" pressure.
If you don't remove the shrader then once you pressurize the rails it'll close up again and won't show any pressure to any gauge hooked up to it.
We have stock fuel pressure regulators in the tank from the factory.
What exactly are you trying to do? Add a gauge or add an aftermarket FPR?

I was attempting to just check the pressure for indication of bad fuel pump by chance. I wasnt taking out the fuel from the rail before, and had it on 'run' sorry for that type error. it came out in a nice stream without anything on it. i couldnt imagine the pump being bad. maybe just not strong anymore. i believe its the stock pump from 02
i may switch the pump out anyways i suppose. the fuel gauge doesnt work anyways

Unless the gauge that goes on the rail to press in the Schrader valve, it will always read 0 because pressure isn't getting to the gauge. You have to remove the Schrader valve for the gauge to read pressure.

it was weird.. i tested it with shrader valve on at work on a 5.3 and it came out with 55 psi
came home and screwed it onto my ls1, and got 0 pressure. the end of valve looks just like that pic ^
