Default A1000

I will be running a stock L33 or cam only with headers. I will be going twin turbo at some point. If I run the A1000 with matching regulator will I burn the pump up? I could have sworn I read some where that this would happen.

If this isn't OK can some one recommend a decent pump for a fuel cell then I can just mate it to a vette filter for a temporary.

Thanks
Jay

Please don't use an A1000. 15 years ago they were decent pumps. Now you can get OEM pumps that produce the flow you need for a quarter of the price that are ten times as reliable.

The new AEM 380 lph pump is cheap and has been showing huge promise.

Will the AEM work with a fuel cell?

I will be 320-350 at the wheels to start then 600-700 with a twin set up.
Thanks

The AEM should support ~750-800 wheel. They flow very well at higher pressures, better than most other pumps including the Walbro 450.

And yes they work with a cell, they are external.

Thank you for the info. Do you have a regulator that you could also recommend?

I use the Aeromotive 13129 with a lot of luck.

I'v been using an A100 for about 12 years or so. Big and noisy. Not particularly cheap. And I'v gone through 3-4 of them. But I just run it off straight 12v, without a controller. In theory, a big electric pump will last longer with a controller.

I'v been looking at the new Holley pump as a replacement. Supposedly a better pump for less money. And I can use my MegaSquirt ECU to control it.

Are you talking the new Holley dual pumps?

Its literally a pair of OEM Walbro pumps in a Holley housing. Nothing more. People have even cracked it open and looked up the pump part numbers to see that they're just $75 Walbros.

A1000 pushes a crap ton more flow than you need for 3-400 rwhp. Its going to return a ton of fuel and then heat up the gas in the cell. They also don't like to be restricted too much. I burned mine up in about 100 street miles. Even Aeromotive will tell you to go a different route.

I know that Holley electric in tank pumps have been made by Walbro for a long time. It wouldn't surprise me that the new pumps are also made by Walbro.

Is that good? Is that bad? IDK.
