can i use my old pump for 5.3 swap? I have a 97 firebird with 3.8, rod started knocking 3 days after i bought it. Wanting to to swap to a vortec 5.3 lm7. Can i use my old fuel pump for the 5.3?
I was thinking maybe if it had the adequate fuel pressure its also a new pump.

I don't think it will have the 58PSI needed. Don't forget about the diameter on rest of the system too. 3/8 minimum is minimum. Can you get by with less? Depends how hard you drive your 'lil 5.3L
