Default Car sputters at half throttle and up

I was driving my ta home and went to pass so I gave it throttle and the car actually lost all power and acted like it was stalling. I have been repeating the issue and it sounds like I'm losing fuel pressure. Before this drive I had the tank out and I wondered if I pinched a line putting it back in. My send and return lines are good, but the lines going to the evap system were crushed and remained crushed after I freed them. Could these lines be causing a problem with my fuel pressure or is my pump shot?

You didn't mention it so I'll ask- clogged fuel filter(s)??

I haven't checked that but I don't think that's the case. The fuel pump sounds like it's not building pressure when I hit the throttle. I would imagine if the filter was clogged the pump would still make pressure before the filter so it would sound like it's making pressure. The pump is new and had no issues until I pulled the tank and put it back in.

No, the new pump came with the car.

so you just got the car and replaced the pump?


did it come with a new sock?? is the nylon feed tube cracked?

I dropped the tank because the previous owner cut an access hole to put the new fuel pump in. In the process he couldn't figure out how to wire the pump again and wired it hot in run. Not through the relay. Then when he put a cover over the hole he drilled into the tank. (Idiot.) So I dropped the tank to fix the holes with epoxy and fix the connections so the pump comes on with the relay. The sock was new and the feed tube was intact.

The evap system is also the tank vent. Close off the vent, and eventually, you will create a vacuum in the tank, cavitate the pump.

Fuel psi is?
