CAS drag tank peepz, a q
Anyone got this tank?
My tank is hard to fill, it's like it's not vented right, I have to very slowly put gas in... Anyone have thoughts on this? I will pull the tank very soon.

All in all I'm not real satisfied with my tank. First off the one seam has a small seaping leak. Mine is also hard to fill. I did get it a little better by putting a T at the tank on the return line and running the vent up from that. Prior that that I had the stock sender and just used one of the fittings on it. Does your gauge work? I couldn't get a stock sender to work right. I bought an autometer gauge and sender and got it half way descent now.

Livernois is installing mine now They don't like the fitment of the stock sender in the tank, meaning the seal at the top so they are welding 2 more bolt taps like the ones in the back! I would like to know about these hard to fill thing? I was just going to use the one vent tube in the sock sending unit! What are you guys doing that works?

My gauge is half off. Z8's aka Chris had to cut down the sender or something. I hope I can fill it up and then adjust the float to get the gauge right... (something like that).
My tank takes forever to fill, I need it to vent more.

Again I thanks I would hate to have this problems when it is all back together!

Good info to know, I'll be sure to properly vent mine before its final installation. As far as the sender, we were going to try cutting/bending the stock one to make it at least partially accurate.

well I am going to see about the fill problem! But my tank is to big with out the pad at the top! Meaning when the tank is straped in it bends the floor in the car up 1/2" So now the shop is making 1/2" spacers to weld to the top of the tank, then remake the strapes to add some to bolt it back in! I have spent more to mod this tank than I did for te tank! I am going back to the shopfriday to see it an I will try to get pics.

These tanks aren't very user friendly right out of the box. Vent problems are the reason it is hard to fill. You can use all of the vents atop of the sending unit, if youdo that it will be much easier to fill. Also we have found you can bend the sending unit to get it to measure much more accuratly. Wish these were easier to use out of the box!

Well I think we finally got it! I can only wait and see if the gauge works!
So for all that want to know the stock straps are too short by 1/2"-1",we didn't like the seal on the top of the tank so we welded 2 more "hold down taps",and as far as vent goes we are going to wait and see how it fills. Rather than reengineering it more! With my access door I can just opean it and there is the vent tube!
