fuel regulator return so apparently adjustable regulators use an orifice in the discharge port:

this one even lets you instal one of three, 0.1", 0.15", 0.2". so is all the fuel from a high performance pump really returning through such an orifice? its hard to believe. in that case you coud use a -3 return line. i talked to their "tech line" and the guy said yes, its been like that for 15 years. why they do a -6 outlet port he didnt know.

If you take one apart, you can see what the discharge port is like.
Some really are very small, but I certainly wouldnt want to be using a very small line as a return, as any restrictions in the line could still affect regulator performance.
