Procharged 02 Z28 - Loss of fuel pressure, problem testing
1. Bad Regulator Diaphram?? I pulled the vacuum line off the FastLab fuel regulator, no fuel in it so no leaky diaphram. Its mounted on the front of my pass side Fast fuel rail.
2. Leaking Injector?? this is where I am stuck, I pulled the rail bolts and am lifting the drivers side first. I have the injectors in the rails still but when I get in the car to prime it, I keep blowing an injector our of the rail. Trying to do this alone. HOW DO I COMPLETE THIS TEST WITHOUT THE INJECTOR POPPING OFF?? is it bad that all the fuel flows out of the rail into the injector hole when that happened?
Once I can complete #2, then Ill move on testing further if thats not the fix but I cant get that part done.
- Return line test - will pinch/block return line and see if it holds pressure. If it holds then likely the regulator
- Check valve test - if pressure bleeds with return line blocked, then a check valve in pump may be bad. I will pinch the line between the fuel pump and tank and see if pressure holds, then it would be bad. pinching keeps it from going back into the tank
- Fuel filter test - ill have to just replace, not sure how to check or test yet
- Fuel pump flex tube - ive heard you can pressure test this and see if its leaking out from one side or a clamp
- Fuel pump stopper - ive heard this can be the culprit.
