Stock LS1 on E85
Looking for insight and information on possible gains going from completely stock 99 Camaro Z28 (paper filter stock) to an E85 tune.
Tuning alone on 93 (which we have here) usually give a few more ponies so I figured E85 might also help?
Would it need injectors/pump upgrades?
Any info is appreciated!

That's a solid gain. My thought was to have a completely stock appearing setup that runs harder than expected.
Plan would be to delete EGR/AIR, TB coolant bypass, ported TB, Lid with ram air mod, LS6 intake, E85 tune.
Goal would be to trap 110+ in this configuration.
Any other stealth mod advice is appreciated.

You'll need to run about 20-25% more fuel volume. You'll need bigger injectors. Probably need a bigger fuel pump, too.
A lot of people say it's corrosive. It isn't really, so no need to worry about replacing all the rubber components.
The big advantage, IMO, is that it runs so cool. Racing in the summer puts a big thermal load on the car, especially road racing. E-85 really eliminates a lot of that load.

Unless you pulled the heads and milled them for way more compression it isn't worth running e85 and the necessity for bigger injectors as others have said.
I had an 11.25:1 compression LS7 that we tried e85 vs 91 on... and the gain was around 10rwhp. I needed more compression to reap the real benefits.
Every full point gain in compression yields about 3% increase in power. So 500rwhp 11:1 upped to 12:1 could technically make 515rwhp or so.
Agree that e85 helps lower coolant temps 10-15*! Good stuff.

I will be testing this on a stock longblock car very shortly. However, just about everything else on the car has been messed with so I'm not sure how good of a comparison it would be to stock.
