Can a 96 LT1 Camaro run E30 fuel?
As the title ask. Where i live i can only get 87 octane fuel. Would have to go to a different town to get anything higher. But my town does have a "E" fuel station. Im in the process of putting my car back together. It will be running a little higher in compression and the lower octane has me worried. From what i understand E30 has 94-95 octane.

E30 can be anywhere from 87 to 95 , its about what else is in there..
we have E10 in 87/89/92 in Oregon..
The Ethanol has a base octane, and the gasoline has an additive package to set its octane to make the requirement when its the gasoline+the 30% Alcohol.
Do you have a local farm coop? Because often out behind the main building they have "ag" pump that often can dispense 0% E85, and E100.. "For farm use only"

it is controlled by the local COOP i believe. but not sure if they have 0% E85 or E100. Why do you ask that?

I know that E85 can be damaging to older fuel systems. Im not sure if E30 is also. If E30 isnt damaging and i was to run it i would likely have the computer tuned for it. I am currently putting my motor back together because of a blown head gasket. Currently installing cc503, bbk 58mm TB, unported heads. 1.6rr. Heads have been shaved .010. Head gasket are .010 thinner then factory. Im not sure what this bumps the compression up to but i am concerned with detonation happening.
edit: other mods include CPT built trans, Yank 3200SS, K&N CAI, PS 1 3/4 headers, no cats, X pipe with bullets. 4.10 gears, PCM4LESS tune. EGR delete.

E-30 = Fuel Pressure INCREASE
Hi RR, I agree with AG with FP INCREASE, about 5 psi should work fine.
My Fuel Pressure Regulators ARE "E" safe AND adjustable.
The 5 Psi is just a "guess" based of the 20% E increase from normal pump E-10.
You could "read" the plugs and then be SPOT-ON with correct rail pressure adjustment.
