Default Bad / leaking Fuel pressure regulator.

I have a truck engine with a return fuel line capped off because I am using a corvette syle regulator near the tank

My is problem that the regulator on the rail uses a vacuum and is started to leak and my guess is leaking into my intake and causing it to run rough and at time backfire

question: the regulator on the rail is it even needed can I just cap the vents on both side and cancel them both and save the cost of replacing the regulator since it is not sending any fuel back?

Hope this all make since and have explained my problem correctly.

Unscrew the regulator and cap the line it was attached to. With the Vette regulator close to the tank, you don't need the one on the engine.

@@G Atsma, thanks I will do just that this evening and see if that resolves my issues that I'm having.
No use of me purchasing a new one when the return is capped off.
