Need fuel pump for 1998 Firebird with LS3 An LS3 engine was installed 4 years ago. The original LS1 fuel pump works well with the LS3. The fuel pump check-valve keeps getting worse so it's time to replace the fuel pump assembly.
What fuel pump brands should I avoid? Which brands work well for a long time?

The fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and whatever else is part of the module in the gas tank is what came with my car for the stock LS1 engine. The LS3 was installed over 4 years ago. A few months after, the check-valve quit holding fuel pressure after I turned the engine off. At that time I didn't understand what was happening. To test for adequate fuel pressure, I made several back-to-back runs from 50-100 mph where the engine rpm came very close to the rev limiter. There was no indication of insufficient fuel pressure.

I have a '98 as well. They use a unique pump from the 1999-2002 LS1 cars, as those came with plastic tanks. I bought a Bosch pump for mine, and it worked just like new. I swapped my tank to the plastic one, so I no longer have a use for a '98 pump. Mine has very few miles on it, if you want to buy it off me. $100 + shipping? (New, they look to go for around $300.)

Thank you for the response and the offer to sell your slightly used fuel pump. I no longer need a fuel pump because I had an AC Delco fuel pump assembly installed late last week.
