I doubt it. The corn lobby is too strong...

Check this Ethanol free gas station web site from your state of Maine ( https://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=ME )

Ethanol-free gas is for boats and classic/vintage cars with old fuel systems that can’t handle alcohol. Octane is octane, dude.

I've seen it a few times in Michigan, just in my area alone. I wouldn't run it though if you're not tuned for it

LOLWUT?

Where are you people getting your information? Ethanol-free gas is what every car was using like 15 years ago before MTBE and lead octane boosters were banned. There’s nothing about it that needs to be tuned for, and there’s nothing special about it - it’s just gas. Ethanol(which is alcohol) was simply used to replace those old additives - but the problem is alcohol eats up old fuel systems - so an ethanol-free version has to be available.

Now, it’s fairly easy to update the fuel system on an older car - but the fuel tanks in many boats are sealed inside the hull and are not accessible without literally cutting the boat apart. That’s why ethanol-free gas is most common around bodies of water and you can find it at every marina.

But like I’ve already said - it’s still just gas. It just doesn’t have alcohol in it like most stuff for cars.

What I'm saying is if you have a highly modified car that is agressively tuned specifically for 93 with ethanol, it would not be a good idea to run the pure 93 with no other changes in the tune. My tuner specifically advised against this.

Most vehicles from 15years ago were tuned for ethanol free gasoline. The PCM stoichiometric values were set at 14.67 which is stoich for 100% gasoline. All new cars today are programmed for E10 or a stoich value of 14.1. Either way, 10% blend is not going to throw off the tune enough to hurt anything nor will it damage the fuel systems on most vehicles from the late 90's or newer. As mentioned previously, it's mainly still available for Marine use, where water crafts still use rubber hoses for fuel lines.

Also at most farm stores,, and yes there is some irony in that... Most farm equipment can't use ethanol without a lot of work..

I’ve got ethanol free pumps all around me in North Ga, but can’t hardly find E85 in these parts.
I buy the ethanol free fuel for my lawn equipment. It sits in my tanks longer without worry of the ethanol harming the carburetors.

The irony of all of this ethanol crap is that our EPA has done studies on air quality 10 years later, and found that the ethanol fuels have not done anything for air pollution. Nothing. Zero.
There have been too many billion$ invested in the process to turn back now...

Some recent stuff I read said it probably consumes 1.5 units of fossil fuel energy to create 1 unit of ethanol energy. It takes a **** ton of natural gas to create nitrogen fertilizers to grow the feed stock. Then you gotta move all that stuff around (using fossil fuels)

And it went on to say that while ethanol straight burns cleaner than gasoline, when blended with gasoline, the higher combustion temp of the ethanol creates more nitrogen dioxides in the leftover hydrocarbon chains from the gasoline.

But oh well, at least I can buy 105 octane race fuel from the pump for $3/gallon

man don’t get me started on all this beaurocracy crap. It gets my blood boiling. Our govt. always seems to have the answer to everything, while spending a quad zillion dollars, only to find out they were wrong. And then they don’t care, and think up something else to spend another quadrillion dollars on. Merica!

Thats funny our cars have to b tuned for ethanol free gas. It was like 10-15 yrs ago thats all there was and most v8 cars were recomended to run 89-93 at least most performance v8s. Ethonal is alchohol made from corn and it is very hard on seals gaskets and plastic. My car is not tuned for it and i think it runs alot better using it
