Default FP Gauge Pressure

I recorded my FP gauge at the track. Is the pressure drop normal for the stock regulator??

I would think you were going lean as it dropped. Thats what mine was doing with stock regulator and 42lb injectors. And I was going 13.1 and up if I stayed in it past 5000rpm.

With the Walbro and 42#'s, I don't ever run lean. 11:8 across the board. It does lean up a bit over 6000 rpms. But I am sure it is because I am maxing out the MAF. And need to adjust the PE table.

I just want to make sure this is normal.

i always thought that if the fuel pressure dropped, you are running out of fuel flow. i think you might be maxing out your single 255.

i had the same thing happen with my single 255, for ***** and giggles i wired in two stock pumps together...and my fuel pressure held

Mine does the exact same thing, scared the dogdoo out of me, but I put it on the dyno and a/f stayed all away across the board. Still haven't figured out the problem.

My car did the same thing, too lazy to fix it and it worked ok so I left it

If you have a FPSS in there make sure it isnt shutting the N20 off, they usually shut off around 45psi but they vary quite a bit..

Your simply at the edge of available fuel delivery. My car did the same thing and still ran O.K. but it bothered me so I finished off the fuel system. Now with the boost reference regulator the needle goes the other way. Since your A/F is still in range you can probably live with it like it is.

Thanks guys, I will keep an eye on it. But a boost reference regulator may be something to get.

i doubt it will maintain the fuel pressure - it might rise like 1-2 psi but immediately fall back down again...

like i said..it seems like you are running out of flow.

According to their website, racetronix is comming out with a fuel rail regulated system.

Nice00 has it right. At a high flow rate, the in tank regulator cannot keep up. Add a fuel return system, remove the intank regulator, and throw a new regulator on the rail.

Or save some time and money and dont go so fast at the track.

Don't go so fast at the track!!?? Are you HIGH?! haahahahaa

Mine does the same thing NA. My FP drops 10 or more lbs just on the dyno. That might be why my mph is a little low at the track??
Is their any way to remove the in tank regulator and add one somewhere else? I mean besides waiting on the kit from Racetronix? The SpeedInc kit is looking better all the time....lots of $$$ however.

OK the Walbro 255lph intank pump should be good to 800hp(engine)..supposedly. I am only puttin out around 600 engine hp so I should have plenty of fuel capacity right? So the problem with our FP dropping has most likely got to be the intank regulator. On my 98 the return line is tee'd off back to the tank under the car by the fuel filter.
Has anyone done aftermarket rails with an inline mechanical regulator/return line that hooks back into the factory return line on the tank? Of course you would seal off the hole on the tee'd factory junction block near the fuel filter. The SpeedInc Stage II system is awesome but you also lose your stealth factor the minute someone looks under your car.
Anyone tried anything like this?
