Hey guys. I'm building a budget 408 stroker. Could not find adequate info on the topic so decided to ask. I am not looking for big hp numbers or anything, just kind of want a cruiser. Currently, my setup that im building (and excuse my ignorance, first time builder) is using a 4in stroke crank and 4.040" pistons making it roughly a 410 motor, but we'll call it 408. I am also using a sort of small cam. 204/222 .551/.570 112 LSA. Using 243 cathedral port heads and a 96mm intake. Nothing too crazy. I am also using an external "044" style fuel pump with the corvette returnless pressure regulator. All this mated with a M6.
Can I use a stock LS1 injectors? I have a set of those lying around. Will I run into issues using the 28lb? Is there an affordable set of injectors you recommend?
Hesitant to order anything because the online market is flooded with that chinese ebay crappy injectors, so its hard to find a "truly" good deal.
As you can see on the ICT chart the LS1 & LS6 injectors are the same length and the LS2's the shorter of the three. Since you have to run aftermarket rails I would mock up the intake with the rails and see how the LS1 injectors fit and if they require any spacers because of their extra length compared to the shorter LS2 injectors.
The FAST 36lb (303608) are the correct LS1 length (64.77mm) with the correct intake bore (.551). There is plenty of good data for them as they are the same as the Pontiac GTP & ASA injectors.
Rough guideline is multiply the lbs of the injector by 16.
so, 28 lbs injectors is good for around 450 hp max.
I'veLS3 42 lbs injectors in my 403. I'd suggest something in this range. Should be good for around 650-675 hp. I assume the typical 40x is around 575-625 hp.
