Default Tank switch???

Is there any advantage to switching from a 93-97 LT1 fuel tank to a 98-02 LS1 when doing a LS swap
I have my tank out and can buy a LS tank close by cheap, but would I gain anything by doing this
I already have the Racetronix direct wire fuel pump harness (it connect directly to the alternator or battery)
And I just bought a Aeromotive Stealth 340 replacement fuel pump

Thanks,
Rob

99-02 are plastic tanks AFAIK and the sending units are completely different along with the fuel level. Fuel pressure regulator is also built into the tank. You'd also need to tackle some wiring to get it all in sync with your car. Lots of people have done it. I think the biggest advantage would be no possibility of rust destroying the tank

Search this forum for the tank switch - lots of pics and a pretty good writeup. The kit you have more than likely would work with the 98 metal tank. Pretty sure the 99-2002 Racetronix kits are different plug ends on the fuel hat. Your 97 has a yellow bulkhead connector whereas the 99-2002 has a larger bulkhead connector on the fuel hat assembly and they are not interchangable. So you for sure will have to cut the 97 harness and adapt it to the modular plug end where it mates to the modular 99-2002 bulkhead connector on the fuel hat. The fuel hat on the 97-98 is metal and is plastic on the 99-2002 model years.. There is a significant difference between the two tanks.

Find the post and read throughly before you spring for the tank.

I'm not getting anything like what you talked about
Mainly alot of stuff that has nothing to do with installing an LS1 tank

There's lot of related articles as well concerning pump choice, wiring etc.

Search on fuel tank swap.
