98-02 fuel tank baffles
I know the '98 steel tank has a baffle, because I had to fight that mfing pickup into the vertical hole in the tank. A vendor has told me that all F-body tanks are baffled, so I picked up a used plastic tank from a local parts place. I don't have the photo of the tank PN in front of me, but taking the pump out, I don't see any baffles. Are the 99-02 tanks wide open, and the only anti-starve mechanism simply the pump-in-bucket design?

The inlet on the RH side is the filter inlet. It looks like the one on the left is an extra inlet, but there is a rubber cover over it on the inside of the bucket. Don't know how much actual fuel could get in there---especially if you are talking about needing a lot. If your fuel pump is plugged into the filter, it doesn't really matter.

Here's the bottom of the 99-02 340lph kit I just received from WS6store. Not impressed by the size or orientation of the sock compared to the '98. The part of the sock that connects to the pump is difficult to remove so I didn't try too hard. The part of the sock that slides into a plastic tube is fairly easy to loosen. I'd like to remove the sock without damaging anything to see what methods, if any, can be used to attach hydramat. Ideas?
