Default Leaking fuel preasure sending unit

Leaking fuel preasure sending unit
My TA 99 4th gen has been parked for proballey over six months Cranked her up today an saw fuel leaking out of the fuel preasure sending unit.

removed sender an w/ my mouth blew into sender saw a little fuel come out of sender.

When I installed my steward waner fuel preasure guage I removed the shrader valve.

Is the Schrader valve in the stock fuel rail the same as a Schrader valve in a tire steam?

Would like to cruise around in the TA but safely.

Thanks

Are you talking about the fuel rail?

yes I cranked her up yesterday she's been sitting for about 4 months.
after cranking I observed dropes of gasoline dropping from the steward warner fuel preasure guage sender unit.

when I installed this sender unit the schraider valve inside stock fuel rail has to be removed so fuel can enter the sender.

cruised by auto zone and they don't have a schraider vlave for fuel rail.I don't think a tire schraider valve will work bc they have rubber o-rings sealing air where the fuel schraider valves I think are made of metal.
thanks

A tire valve will not work, I believe the one in the rail is physically larger. Do you have a junkyard nearby? I'm pretty sure most LS rails have the same size schrader valve. Either that or go on Marketplace, someone is bound to have a fuel rail you can get for cheap.

the local junk yard rarely has F-bodys .

I actually retaped w/ the teflon tape an there no leak anymore. I don't trust the teflon tape so I'm ditching the fuel sender & guage.like doe's teflon tape need to be replaced after a few years?
plan to try this schrader valve. plan to get the tire Guy at costco to lend me the tire schrader valve tool.

You don't need an F-body... I'm pretty sure the valves are standardized across ALL models.

ordered new schrader valve should recieve next week. also man at costco lent me the tool.

1.should the schrader valve be wrapped w/ teflon tape before inserting into fuel rail, (using stock OEM rail)
2.is the plastic cover a dust/dirt cover?
thanks

The valve should have a seal on it, nothing is needed except to thread it in. And yes, the cover is just a dust cover.
