Default Getting power to Injectors

I might have signed up for the wrong forum, I don't have a Camaro. But my question is this. I'm swapping a 2000 Tahoe 5.3 into a 1988 Toyota Landcruiser. I'd like to use the switched from the ignition wire that formerly went to the coil on the original motor. Is this a good idea?
I'm new to this but having fun and making progress.

Use the wiring harness and ECM that came with the engine, then use available wiring diagrams to help you find the vehicle wiring spots to wire them to.
You get power to the ECM. not the injectors. The ECM powers the injectors.

I thought I was reading the wiring diagram for the Vortec and it showed me the pink wires to the injectors going through a 15AMP fuse and then to "Hot in run and Start" power source. Maybe I don't know how to read it correctly. My diagram shows the PCM getting power in at #20 and #57 and that comes through a fuse from a "Hot at all times" power source. I thought I had to find power through the ignition to get to the fuel injectors?

All the ignition and injection is controlled thru the ECM which controls the injectors by grounding them in the ECM. You might want to do some reading on the diagrams themselves and kind of get a feel for how these systems run. The engine harness is fairly self contained.

Default Power to injectors

Maybe I'm phrasing it wrong. At the top of Diagram 1 it shows the pink wires from the injectors going to a fuse and to a "Hot In Run and Start". I need a wire from my original Land Cruiser to provide the "Hot In Run and Start". Can that wire be the old wire that went to my Coil (which I no longer have) I now have the 2000 Tahoe in it's place. This 2000 Tahoe came from the auto wrecker with the harness but only had block C2 (not the whole Electrical control center).

OK- Yes, if you have a start/run power source, that will suffice to power the ECM
