Ls1 return less system fuel pressure question

Default Ls1 return less system fuel pressure question

Greetings. Just swapped to an ls1 5.7 out of a 2000 vette. Have a Holley in tank return less pump 12-313. Dumb question. Do I need a fuel pressure regulator? If so can you all provide a specific part number that will go well and not break the bank. All stock fyi

Look up your pump and see what pressure it puts out.

That and it really helps to know what you put that LS1 into, as in the vehicle and how you setup the Fuel System. We can't read your mind...

You won’t need a regulator with that setup for the early corvettes. The pump is preset for 58 lbs. Great choice.

58 psi and that what the engine needs as well. Ls1 was put into a c3. Used existing fuel line no return direct to new fuel rails. And you don’t want to read my mind.

The 2000 LS1 Corvette engine had the best OEM cam of any MY LS1's. They have .500" lift stock, and a slightly tighter LSA. I bring this up because it is THE ONLY LS1 engine I'm aware of that you can't simply go from OEM 1.7:1 to 1.8:1-1.85:1 rocker arms without changing valve springs first. This is due to that .500" lift. However, with a good tune and boltons, you can get some pretty good power out of them. In my 2000 A4 C5, I was able to get into the 12.80s@110mph thru OEM exhaust manifolds. FWIW.....

I’d be happy to get it to stop hesitation. I measured once again and am getting 58-61 psi but could be sensitive gauge. I identified a vac leak which I plugged waiting for the tuner
