Default reliable c5 corvette filter regulator

For my G Body LM7 5.3 swap (basically stock power level for now), I was thinking of going return less by way of a c5 corvette filter regulator. The fuel sending unit has return and supply lines, and the pump doesn't look to be anything high performance.

I am reading about a lot of failures with both the aftermarket and OE AC Delco GF822. Also reading about failures with the Wix 33737 as well. Is there a C5 filter regulator out there that is reliable?

The other option is to run return line to a fuel pump regulator, but I am concerned about leaks with those. Thoughts? Or is there something that is reliable for use around stock power level?

I've been using the WIX C5 filter regulator on the 01 for years now and it works with a 450 Walbro pump in the tank but I plan on switching to an Aeromotive FPR and 8AN feed and 6AN return.

I am shocked. Usually those things suck after a 340 pump.

do you know if the wix you are using is made in the USA before they apparently moved to made in Taiwan?

im reading a lot of negative reviews now on the wix filters recently but the older stock from the US that people purchased years back work well.

IDK but here's where I went to purchase my last one and I can clearly see that the one they're showing is made in Taiwan. It's been a year or so since I've changed it so I'll have to crawl under there and have a look.

I have a Subaru with an Aeromotive regulator in the engine bay, downstream of the fuel rails, and a return line to the tank. It's been good for about 15 years / 50k miles.

My C5 has a Fore regulator hooked up the same way. Only about 5k miles on it, but I'm not worried.

One drawback with those regulators is that they lose pressure shortly after the fuel pump stops running, which means they need a few seconds to build pressure when you want to start the engine again. With the Subaru I just let the pump run 3-4 seconds before turning it over, and it fires right up every time. With the C5 it takes 5-15 seconds to build pressure and I'm not sure why (I have a fuel pressure gauge on my A-pillar). I've heard that this problem can be solved with a check valve but I haven't really looked into it.

How are those Aeromotive regulators?? I've been looking at maybe trying one out to replace my Racetronix unit

It's a quality FPR and Aeromotive is some of the best stuff around, I just wish I'd went that route on the 01 and ran 8AN feed and return like I did on the 99 car. I may just run an -8 PTF feed line up to some billet fuel rails and use the old fuel line as a return.
