Default Racetronix Customer Service is a joke

Bought a pump kit and hotwire harness for a C5. Pump kit came with decent instructions, although incomplete.

The hotwire kit connections are pretty easy, but zero instructions included. What's really needed is pictures of how they made the kit to be installed. I found a couple DIY pictures and videos and they are all installed differently and not clean.

I called Racetronix. Option #3 was the only line that got answered by a Mexican fella who was tired of "getting all the flak for no instructions, please call the owner" so I tried, that's option #1/2 which immediately hangs up and rings dead.

A quick search reveals people have been having issues getting instructions for over 10 years.

"Just register on the RaceTronix forum". I did, my account was not approved as they can't find my order. "Please respond with order number to this PM". I can't respond to the PM as they haven't activated my account.

What an absolute joke of a company. I'll never buy their crap again and I highly suggest you avoid them as well. I can't imagine how bad their service is if you have a issue with the product(like the missing oetiker clamp from my fuel pump kit).

Funny they have PM blocked here as well. I wonder why

UPDATE!

I filled out every form I could find and finally got an email and call back. The first guy that called didn't have instructions but passed an email to engineering who did call me back. But he couldn't send me the PDF instructions, I would need to get on their forum to get that. By this point someone had finally decided I could have access to the forum. I found an old sticky with a PDF download of old instructions. But the download doesn't work lol.

Taking to the engineering guy, he says "go on the forum", I explained the dead link, and he responds"oh we need to fix that" fair. Can you email me the PDF instructions? "No this kit is pretty new and we don't have any, but I can describe how to install it".

So I spent three hours of my morning fighting through their rediculous system, trying to get something, that doesn't even exist.

Honestly. Racetronix should cover my bar tab this evening for this aggravation

The part is FPWH-052. If you need to install one, good luck. According to the engineer you can run it anywhere. But don't screw up the connections, it's made to where you can easily, but of course there is zero pictures or diagrams to tell you how to do it correctly. Good luck!

Yep, now where is it designed to mount? Which connector can you hook up backwards and have all kinds of issues? Do the wires run up the tunnel or up the rocker? Where did they plan to mount the fuse under the hood?

The functionality is simple.

VF4 in the picture on racetronix site is sealed. can literally mount anywhere
If I had the harness in my hand, would have the answers to your questions.

the fuse goes to relay terminal 30. the pump is run off of terminal 87. the relay coil wires are 85 and 86. my guess, the fuse gets mounted near the battery looking at the picture.

as far as where you run the wires, up to you.

I would be more upset that you spent $150 on a $0.70 relay, a $1.30 relay socket, a $.50 fuse holder and $3 worth of wiring and terminals.

If you are reading this and wondering how to install. Here's a list of all the wrong answers from Scott. Hopefully he only butchers his own junk.

To the OP:
Would it work for you if Jack refunded your money, sent a tech to do the install at no expense to you, and then fired the customer service phone guy & engineer?

Typical boomer slop. Stop in to glaze RaceTronix ***** but still can't answer the questions posed or offer a plausible reason why instructions for a premium product aren't provided.

The best thing a guy can do with Racetronix is avoid them at all costs. I've had my battles with their stuff and tried going thru their forum only to get banned when giving them exactly what they asked for. I've spent a lot of money with them mainly trying to keep my car going with their junk 340 pumps. But that's also on me for not smacking myself and continuing to give them my money

I read things like this, but I've always had a good experience from them. They are a decent place to pick up a lot of the hard-to-find fittings for random fuel stuff - and its typically good quality stuff.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion I suppose.

Fittings and hoses, absolutely because how could you possibly eff that up?? Pumps and wiring are questionable at best

Pump wiring is pretty basic, if you can't do that then I would probably pay someone to work on my vehicle. Also I searched on Google for racetronic pump wiring instructions and it immediately popped right up. There is so many instructions online to show how to wiring a pump. Although most of us just buy the relays and wiring and make our own kits its much cheaper. Sounds like your being the typical Karen. Most of the kits I've seen from them are power, ground, and plug that plugs into factory harness, not understanding how thats soe complicated.
