Default HELP!! Can't fill gas tank??

I went to the gas pump tonight and I can't put any gas in the tank? I recently had a LM and an LS6 intake put on... Could they have messed something up? Is it because of the code from removing the EGR?

What do you mean you can't fill the gas tank? What happened?

The pump will click off, or if you hold it on anyway it will pour out all over the fender/you like the tank is full. The tank is DEFINATELY not full, more like 1/4. I've driven 280+ miles since I last filled it.

I was thinking maybe they crimped off the vent tube or something?

did you try a diffrent pump? try holding the nozzle diffrent? The only way that could happen is if something is in the fill neck blocking fuel....Try looking down the hole (use a lighter if you need some light ). I would not try sticking a something down to see if something is jamed up, you might push it down in the tank...or you might mistake something for the screen in the fill neck that some cars have (not sure if your car has it).

Also try getting under the car and seeing if something is kinked.

And the manifold or EGR could have nothing to do with this problem.

Sometimes the way you hold the nozzle has something to do with it. If there's an air pocket or something like that, it can occasionally fool the pump into thinking it's full. I'd try another gas pump and making sure the nozzle is fully seated... If that doesn't work, maybe try pulling the nozzle back until it's just in a little ways. Easy stuff first. =)

I took the nozzle in and out several times. Gas would even puddle in the area before the little bronze circular door. The nozzle was definately pushing the door open but the gas wouldnt flow down the line. I looked under the car at the back because I just had a Loudmouth installed and I can't see anything thats out of the ordinary. I looked at the gas fill area on my friends SS just now and it looks exactly the same. Maybe it was just the pump? I hope...

I have heard of some pontiac's not being able to fill the tank if the SES light is on is there any truth to this?

Thanks for the quick replys.

I dunno if that's true or not, but it certainly doesn't make any sense to me. I can't think of any reason the SES light would automatically shut off the tank from being refilled. I just don't see the logic behind that one.

I would think that there is nothing that would do that. I have my old tank in the garage and the only thing it has is a check valve. But it should let gas in unless it is stuck.

Does your old tank still have the tank level sending unit? I'm trying to figure out what might have screwed up on the arm of mine before I take it all apart...

This may not apply to your car but C4 Vettes had a rubber safty bladder inside the tank that sometimes colapsed, decreasing tank volume. Also, if the vent hole got plugged that normally allows air into the tank to displace spent fuel, will cause tank to suck (calapse) in.

Did they hook the vapor vent canister back up to the intake?

Hey man, don't insert the nozzle all the way. If your gas tank has too many vapors in it, then it won't fill. Insert it all the way, then pull it back a 1/2 inch. That usually solves the issue.
