Default TPI on a LT1?

Does any one know if a TPI base will fix on a LT1 if I block the distributor hole. I understand that I will have a colling passage that will not be used but I plan to make a block off plate for te thermostate hole. my biggest concern is the Intake to head bolt not being the right angle.

I know that your most likly saying Im nuts for wanting a TPI base but I just scored a Accel Super Ram intake Plentum and runners for 200$ in the trader. Thought it would make this LT1 short block sing with some valved stock heads (like 2.02 intake would be the biggest).

LPE sells a base for the LT1s, regular one for a TPI wont work. The base from LPE is 500. Theres guys who can really work magic on a LT1 intake manifold for the money you'lll be spending on that Accel set up.

Well I already got the runners and plentum. All I need is the base. I know stock TPI Rails will work and I know I got enough Harnesses to make one work. All I need is the stock TPI base or a bored out TPI base (preferrable ). I guess I will just find a stock roller cam Gen I small block.

Well, I know a guy here locally who bolted a Victor Junior intake on his LT1 when he made it a carb setup. He had the entire thermostat housing ground off and the side water passages welded up, and then had it powder coated. I think it was a bolt on affair.

So yes, it should work provided you block the distributor hole. Edelbrock also makes a TPI base (which has more meat for porting than the stocker).

The angle of the intake bolts are different between the LT1 heads and the L98 heads. You'll need to grind the holes in the intake to get it to work. Double check the port alignment as well. I think the stock LT1 intake gaskets will do.
