98 tank into a 2000 = PITA
Here is what I found -- just wanted to see if anyone else has had the same problems. Anyway, the plastic tank comes out easily, just as I did last time, without taking the rear out. However the metal tank was a major PITA. The only reason for this is because of the filler neck. The rubber hose version on the plastic tank makes it much easier/flexible to remove. However it was almost impossible to get the metal tank in without removing the rear. I did eventually get it in without removing the rear but it required a little use of the grinder/cutoff wheel.Anyway, now its in and the fuel system will be much better for it!
