Default Who's FP for 1100+ FWHP?

Need to start getting the fuel system together for my Chevy 2 project. Motor is a TT427 and will require some serious fuel flow. I need a fuel pump that can move enough volume at 60 PSI and also be streetable. I would love an intake style unit as I am fabricating the fuel tank from scratch and can adapt anything. What choices do I have?

We use Mangafuel pumps for are more hi power applications. They are capable have handleing 1500 fwhp on FI cars and 2000 fwhp on NA. The one I would recommend would be a Pro Star 500. We sell them for $899.99.

How are those pumps for long duration usage? This project is to be street driven at times and I'll be god damned if I can only go a 1/4 mile at a time?

We are installing it in a street only car right now with Twin turbos.

After some research it appears that the Weldon pump gets the job done. I would like some more info on the Magna Pump.

What else would I need to go with that pump? Voltage controller, etc.....

Who makes a kick *** regulator to handle the volume?

We use a Aeromotive Pro-Series Boost Reference EFI Regulator. If you need a complete fuel system we can get one for you.

Weldon also makes there own regulators, and they build them to your specs. I just love weldon stuff, yes they are noisy but man do they flow some fuel, I dont think there is a better pump out there. and there tech support is 2nd to none, they helped me plan out my fuel system, I drew out what I wanted and emailed it to them, they changed a few things and email it back withen hours. he even calls from time to time to see how things are doing

I also run the weldon Dial a flow, since I am a nitrous car I turn the pump down so it is just enough to support the motor, and then when I arm the nitrous system the pump turns on Full Blast.

Most of the weldon pumps can be run continusly, the 2035 is a "hot" pump is it is designed to be ran for short time periods, but most of the others wont have a problem

Looks like I'll be calling Weldon to talk to them about the project. I need more then just a pump and would rather stick with one source for the whole system. I'm not going to nickel and dime this system.

Thanks for all the feedback!

I also use a Aeromotive Pro-Series Boost Reference EFI Regulator.
Weldens are loud, but not that much louder than the Aeromotice Pro 1500 I had. I have tried and tried, but I dont think an intank solution that is out there would be considered acceptable. Racetronix should be building my DP soon if I can get a reply, but thats for significantly less HP.

Running 10 AN to the referenced Reg and a 8 AN return.
J

-10 is NOT required. A -8 feed is more than enough for 1000HP. Always use braided Teflon line where possible. Not rubber braided line.
If you have a plastic tank then the module will require adapters to convert its plastic push-lock outlets to AN style males. -6 is enough for a return.

Look into Product Engineering
http://productengr.com/

Their pumps are designed to be used continously on the street without a voltage controller. The guy that owns the company made what is now the Magnaflow pumps. Had health problems and sold the product line to Magnaflow, now he's started up again. Pumps are very similar in design to the Magnaflow stuff, but with improvements so I'm told. I know of people who have had VERY good results with this pump, and I'm giving them a try on my new setup. See sig for pics of mine installed in the car.

Weldons have the best reputation at top level - but the noise problem is one that could make genuine street driving (especially long trips) a real chore - especially for the "significant other" in the passenger seat

Aeromotive pumps are known to fail on regular use - I know one guy who went through two on his TT Viper.

Don't know about the others - that new startup co looks interesting

We have had no issues with Aeromotive pumps for regular street cars. Maybe this guy with the viper improperly installed his pumps?
