Default fuel system advice for NA setup...

I will be adding stage 3 LS1 heads milled .10 with a TSP 233/239 cam with stock block and I have a stock fuel system right now. I never thought about changing it until recently, is it necessary? What are the stock system limitations? What would be the best combo for my system? I don't want an in-line pump, I'd rather do an in-tank setup. I'm assuming if I change the pump, I will have to change the injectors, correct?

Thanks

i've got SV0 30#'ers and the PnP Racetronix kit. i should be in the 450-470rwph range. since you have an 00 definately get the injectors, the 26#'ers aint gonna cut it.

Thanks for the reply, I have a buddy that wants to sell me his injectors, I think they are either 30# or 36#, I can't remember, do you think the SVO 30#er's should be ok? Where can I buy the racetronix kit?

30#'ers are 34#'s with the LS1's 4bar FP. you can get the racetronix kit from TR.

I just talked to my buddy and he has 38#er's off his SC Hawk, those should work for me right? Also, should I look into new fuel rails? I was looking into Speed Inc.'s system with the external regulator, would they aid the rest of the fuel system? Thanks for the help JRP...

to find out what injectors you should need. Say you are hoping for 600 hp. Horsepower X BSFC (constant of .5)= fuel required. IE 600 hp X .5 =300 lbs fuel per hr. now you need to figure out what lb injectors to use. Lbs fuel hr / 8 injectors.=37.5 @100% duty cycle. you want to use maximum of 80% duty so you need to take the 100% rating of 37.5 and / by .8 or 80% and find that you should use 46.87 lbs/hr. injectors. you can use this to apply to any hp rating.

sweet, thanks 72ChevelleConv.LS1, well I used the formula and it's saying that I need 42# injectors. Does this sound right? That seems a little much for a H/C car?? Someone check my math, 550(FWHP)X.5=275, 275/8=34.375, 34.375/.8=42.96. did I do it right?

Thanks

Looks correct to me. This way is best for your app. the closer to the 100% duty cycle you are the more close you will come to having a fuel issue with supply. your welcome!
